The city where you can't look down...

I just got home from beautiful Las Vegas, if your idea of beauty is sick cards on the ground, smoke filled skies, and bright lights then this is your city. Now, don't get me wrong, I had a great time and did some great shopping so it was way worth it. I'm going to give you a play by play of what happened in Vegas....

DAY ONE
We were lucky enough to fly to Vegas thanks to our wonderful parents! Rachel and I haven't been on a plane in over 12 years so we were both a little worried about how things worked. We made it there, and through security without a hitch! Our tickets said terminal 2 so me being the older sister took the lead and followed the very deceiving arrows to what I thought was terminal 2. After walking a few feet we realized that we had walked out the exit, not down to terminal 2! DANG ARROWS!!! So to my embarrassment we had to go through security again! The people there thought that it was pretty funny so I then decided that we would be over cautious and ask everyone if we were headed in the right direction. We made it to our gate and waited forever! Finally we were able to board the little plane (2 seats, the aisle, then 2 more seats) and waited for take off. I was a little nervous but more excited than anything. I really needed a vacay. Here is us waiting to take off....
So, we made it! The plane had a bumpy landing but I thought all was going well. So far, so good! As we got up to exit our plane, I hit my head on the over-head thingys and the entire plane behind burst out laughing. (HIDE ME!!!) So we made a beeline out of there! We had to ride this tram thingy to the main airport part where our fabulous parents were waiting to pick us up. (NOTE TO READER: My mom and dad had left a few days before us in the car to stay in St. George and then were meeting us in Vegas and we were staying in the Luxor while they stayed at some resort place.)

We made it to the car and then after several U-turns, made it into the hotel. We checked in and I went to open the window...

And this was our view... The Sphinx's butt! Really! Of the whole pryamid we have a veiw of a butt! WHAT THE!Oh well! We weren't going to spending that much time in the hotel room anyways. We left the hotel to head to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. I can't believe the outfits there, think one piece denim shorts and shirt, no bras on old ladies, shirtless, tattooed tubby men, and see through dresses. YIKES! We made it to the restaurant and had a yummy dinner! After that we headed to The Forum Shoppes from some retail therapy. They had everything a girl could want! Louis, Dior, Juicy, MAC, Valentino, Tiffanys, and so much more. I just wish I was one of those girls that could afford those stores!! I knew I wanted some NIKE dunks for my souvineer so I went to the Nike store and found these babies...

SICK I KNOW!!! I had to have them! Oh and some more MAC eyeshadow. Rachel got a new Tiffany's heart bracelet and then we went to watch the fountains at the Bellagio. They are gorgeous! I have a video but it won't upload so sorry! We wanted to get a better view so Rachel and I climbed up on the railing to see. While I flopped up there I was told that I flashed the whole city my weirdly high butt crack! Oh well it is Vegas! When in Rome! After the show we walked back to car and were driving home when we saw this sign...

The funny part was that one of the sick girls had HIV written all over her. HA HA HA!! That's what they can get direct to you! We were parched so we headed to the lobby 24 hour store to get some water. It was freaking 3.25 for a liter! YIKES AGAIN! It was way worth it though. We tried to go to bed but had crazy Jack Pot noises going off all night long. Well we made it to sleep and tune in tomorrow for what happened day 2!
Love, Katie

I wish I could say that you missed a lot while you were gone but really, nothing happens when you are not around! I wonder why. I should have a really quiet summer!!!! I love that you bonked your head on the low cabin overhang. Dang! They should make riding in an airplane more consumer friendly. I think you should ask for a free flight to make up for possible brain damage. Can't wait for day two.
